I compared both patches mentioned in
http://www.mail-archive.com/darcs-devel@darcs.net/msg02338.html
and Edwins patch for handling files containing whitespace
in annotate seems to be the safer choice for now.
The other patch changes the poulation code to store filenames as
packedStrings without encoding whitespace, while this patch encodes
the whitespace in the string given on the commandline before looking
up the file in the population.
But i'm still not sure if encoding the whitespace in the pop is really
necessary.
