For the novitiate user that isn't intimately familiar with the internals
of darcs, the distinction may just add confusion. My suggestion would
be to further Eric's direction and have the help output simply say
"get patches only when needed" since this might make the most sense
to the user reading "darcs get --help" output. Code comments and/or
documentation could then clarify the actual mechanisms for the
darcs internists.
