I've installed this one on my machine, thanks!

I was just thinking to forgo putting pre-releases or release candidates
on hackage (people could just download the tarball). But the
convention is sensible. It assumes that we'll be incrementing the 'x'
on each 6-month release, which I think is fair enough.

So the state of the darcs 2.1.2.x snapshots is due to a miscommunication
on my part. Namely, I had assumed that they would just literally be
darcs 2.1.2 plus cabalisation, but had failed to communicate that
assumption to Jason. As a result, darcs 2.1.2.x are actually in effect
pre-releases of darcs 2.2. Indeed, something like darcs 2.1.98 would
more clearly communicate the state of affairs.

Good work! I was about to comment on issue numbers, but notice that
you have spotted it too :-)

With Thorkil's help as you mention below, it may be useful to have
issue numbers associated with the ChangeLog entries.

I've installed 2.2.0pre1 on my machine. How about you?

If it helps, you can do this by issuing a search command on the bug
tracker website

Ah, it's very easy; just mail ross at soi.city.ac.uk

I'll look into this as soon as I can catch up with your patches.

Ok, but I ran into this yucky problem (!), which may be a manifestation
of http://bugs.darcs.net/issue1159
