Hello,
just to make a noise and record that new curl seems to be really
important. I've tried linking darcs head against curl 7.18.0 instead of
my system default 7.15.5 and then tried to get the ghc repo by:
time darcs get --verbose --partial --repo-name build
http://darcs.haskell.org/ghc-stable/ghc/
I've of coursed run "old" darcs with curl 7.15.5 and "new" with 7.18.0
in the same time competing each other on available bandwidth. Also it
seems my connection to darcs.haskell.org seems to be slow, although
issue is not probably on my side but on ISP's. Anyway, "new" darcs
already finished copying ~17k patches and started applying them, while
"old" is still copying patches and is on patch around ~8.5k. Of course I
enabled curl pipelining, but I don't know if this is the speedup reason.
Cheers,
Karel
