Just a minor unrelated grumble:

When citing messages, it'd be useful to have the Message-ID cited as
well as the above URL.  This means that I can find the message in my
preferred mail reader, rather than using the pipermail interface at the
above URL.  (Unfortunately the pipermail interface doesn't include the
message ID, or I could just get it from there.)

Because a message ID identifies a message uniquely, it's more accurate
than just looking through my archive by date and subject headers.

You can see the Message-ID header in gnus by pressing t, or in mutt by
pressing h.
