Things noticed so far:

I tried cabal configure with no flags (actually I tried cabal build, and 
it told me to configure.) It says "Configuring darcs-2.2.0" (not 
2.2.1prewhatever). When built, darcs --version says "2.2.0 (+ 27 patches)".

With ghc 6.10.1 and cabal-install 0.6 on ubuntu intrepid x86_64, 
everything built without warnings (the library, then the executable as 
usual.)

Like all recent builds on this system, this build hangs after asking a 
question, described at http://bugs.darcs.net/issue1264 .
