In case that came out as being completely nonsensical, I meant
a version of the peekItem function, not the Item record
(also s/field/argument/)

peekItemCreate :: ForeignPtr () -> Int -> IO Item

peekItem :: ForeignPtr () -> Int -> Int -> IO Item
 -- which uses peekItemCreate

But maybe that is just ugly.
