Hi all,

Hands up if you'd like to build the official Darcs package for Windows,
please!

We haven't heard from Salvatore in a while, and we need those packages
built.

The basic role consists in building a binary for darcs when the
packagers' preview release for Darcs comes out, uploading it to
darcs.net, and linking it from the wiki. Darcs aims for major releases
every 6 months, with minor bugfix releases coming out afterwards.

As for the packaging work, I think you can find some help on the
wiki <http://wiki.darcs.net/Windows>. Darcs is a lot easier to install
on Windows these days, thanks to the Haskell Platform, but things like
curl integration and what not are nice touches that users may need help
with. There's much more work you could do with regards to packaging if
you're feeling ambitious. But let's think about that later.

Thanks to Salvatore for all the packages in the meantime and his efforts
towards an nice, integrated Windows-friendly Darcs. Hopefully, we'll
catch him at a future hacking sprint at least!

Eric :-)

PS. I'll wait a maybe another week before calling for a new Czar (whose
job would be to worry about and advise us on Windows), but I think the
Windows packaging job is one that could be done separately.
