I think the right way to do this is in the driver that calls the test
scripts.  Right now this is in GNUmakefile, but perhaps we should create a
little perl or shell script that does the loop over tests.  Then we can run
the tests with different $HOME/.darcs/defaults settings to get a bit more
leverage out of the tests by running them with several different sets of
options.

(The other change looked good.)
