Indeed, what I can't figure out is what kind of regular expressions mailman
is using.  They make no sense as far as I can tell, and don't seem to be
documented anywhere.  Definitely not what egrep uses, not perl regular
expressions, and not grep regular expressions... some odd sort that I'm
entirely unfamiliar with.  :(  (The above subject, apparently matched
'\[darcs .+\]', even though there is no space after a 'darcs'.)
