Should there perhaps be a choice m (maybe) that means "only
if needed by dependencies"?  The w choice doesn't really do
that since the w-patches becomes y- or n-patches as soon as
some depending/dependent patch is chosen y or n.

Because there already is j and k stepping, w is only needed
to make a y- or n-patch a w-patch again, which m would handle
automatically.
