Oh, sorry, that's a slight lie. I meant to say I haven't thought about
what we should do with which exceptions from getSymbolicLinkStatus.

Looks like one of the failing tests (mv_and_remove_tests.sh) I had
wasn't caused by one of the problems discussed here as I had thought,
either, so I'll need to look into that too.
