New submission from John Goerzen <jgoerzen at complete.org>:
In Darcs 1.0.8, if a .git is present, darcs claims that it's not in a
repository when I run a command.
If I mv .git .foo, then darcs works fine.
This is darcs 1.0.8 from Debian, which is not compiled with Git support.
This behavior breaks using tailor to convert git to darcs.
