Thanks, but maybe we should hold on to this patch until people get more
advanced versions of the software. On MacOS X, for example, I only have
autoconf 2.59.  I could install 2.61 via MacPorts, but I'm not sure this
is the kind of thing you want to force people to do [then again, I also
think we can be more daring with the unstable branch].  Besides, on
Windows, the autoconf version is also 2.59.

Could you resubmit this patch (which looks good otherwise) in the
future, or just remind me to apply it when MSYS and MacOS X catch up?
