[darcs-devel] [issue1218] make development status easier to see from front page

Jason suggests we have a statistics page like
http://xmonad.org/statistics.html

Trent suggests we pull in DWN content on the front page

There may be more we can do.  For me, the point would be to help potential users
get a feel for how active the darcs community is (which would help them decide
if darcs is a safe investment or not)
