Regardless of whether -l is or isn't used, "darcs record foo/" should
not try to read bar.

$ darcs --version
2.2.0 (release)
$ darcs rec fortunes
Recording changes in "fortunes":

hunk ./fortunes/emacs 174
+Linux (especially early Linux) follows the "rabid beaver" development
+model, whereas BSD follows the "grumpy bear" model.
