I just want to point out that we're actually seeing several instances of
this error message on the tracker.  issue1489 has another instance,
although there, the specific problem was that the receiving directory
did not have sufficient permissions (which doesn't seem to explain the
intermittent nature of this).  Anyway, it could be a useful clue for
anybody that wants to look into this.
