Hi! Thanks for the bug report and minimal test case (hint, 
http://wiki.darcs.net/Development/RegressionTests suggests an even more 
helpful approach if you want to go the extra mile).

I think this is a duplicate of issue1932, which will be fixed in Darcs 
2.8
