I think this is the same thing as issue2061. 

Just to confirm, could you make sure that the file with name without the
"-new_..." suffix exists? I.e.
"/Users/alex/.darcs/cache/patches/0000000786-7e11a953367ba0d46b58b558361ae7c25250e5df80b6b34d0707f4d870caaace"
