[darcs-devel] [patch982] provide verbose diagnostics for "can't suspend"

This helps to address the rather unhelpful message "can't suspend
because of unrecorded changes" message. Having it in --verbose
perhaps isn't the most accessible place for it, but at least it's
somewhere.
