[darcs-devel] patch index performance impact on add, record, amend, obliterate

Hi Ganesh,
 Yes, even I observed a slowdown. But it was comparable to yours.
For example record took 30% more time.

However, look at gh's benchmarks. record took 570% more time!

Clearly, it is best if we know what exactly caused record(and other
commands) to take so much more time in gh's case.
