Had a look with
    darcs diff --diff-command "meld %1 %2" --to-patch "improve help
text" --from-patch "add command-line options"

and I found it ok.  Also, it works well in practice.

I'm accepting it (and I've documented the new pragmas in
<http://darcs.net/Development/RegressionTests> ).
