[darcs-devel] [issue1416] put log files in tempdir instead of in working dir

What do other VCSes do in this case, or do they just not create 
temporary files at all? I tend to agree with David's concerns over 
security. Perhaps we should store these files in _darcs/tmp ?

Note that the backup file naming issue is now fixed and I personally 
think they should remain next to the original files in the working 
directory.
