IMHO Darcs should not touch line endings at all. For the internal
patch files, I'd _require_ either '\n' or '\r\n' and then stick to
that line ending on _any_ platform, no matter what. 

Choosing '\n' has the advantage that '\r\n' is implicitly supported as
well. Choosing '\r\n' has the advantage of being "in sync" with the
RFC's opinion on this matter. 

But converting the files back and forth is not a good idea in my
experience.
