[darcs-users] darcs get behavior?

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of juggling a bunch of darcs repos in
various hierarchies - and I typically stumbles on the following

   darcs get ...
   darcs changes 
   -- oops, something didn't work out

or at one point,

   darcs get ./.. [...]
   darcs unpull   [...]
   -- guess what happened here?

Perhaps it would be better if 'darcs get' didn't create the target
directory, but instead populated the current one?  At least, that's
how my mind seems to work, and it causes some annoyances, and in one
case, it was only a live Emacs buffer that saved my data.

Alternatively, darcs could perhaps be more cautious/verbose when
traversing up the file system for the _darcs directory?
