Hmm..I just tried another thing with one small repo containing source files for
the book: Craft of FP (I'm still on the 6th chapter :-( 

bash-2.05b$ darcs optimize --checkpoint
Checkpointing tag:

gour at mail.inet.hr**20040610101605]

Fail: takeLock: does not exist (No such file or directory)


Is it the same sort of error or something new is introduced in latest darcs
that makes a problem?
