There is one easy (but pretty cheesy) way to do this: create an empty
repository, and "send" to that repo.

mkdir /tmp/empty && cd /tmp/empty && darcs inittree
cd /path/to/my/repo
darcs send --to myfriend at wherever /tmp/empty
