I think I can beat that 8) I just got:

$ cat $mypatch | darcs apply
So far so good... finished merging.

darcs failed:  Error applying patch to recorded!
$ grep -v '^[] +-[}]' $mypatch  | grep -v 'ntua\.gr' | grep -v '^$'
hunk ./src/extract.pl 1
hunk ./src/extract.pl 3
$

But ./src/extract.pl is a file I haven't touched in a while and certainly not 
in the one patch that was missing in the context of $mypatch.

This is with a darcs binary built from current sources on 30/4. I'll keep this 
repo around in case more info is needed.
