Hmm...perhaps I could add a 'darcs whats > unrecorded.patch' before I
generate the tar.bz2? 

(For the obvious reason of object files and other junk cluttering up
the working directories, I want to exclude them from the backup.

While the ideal solution in many cases is to have a remote repo to
push changes to, I like to keep complete checkpoints along the way.
Nothing personal, but you know, in case a subtle bug should slowly
corrupt something, or whatnot. :-)
