I just recorded a change with "darcs record -l -v", saying no to adding
a certain directory.

(For some reason I was still asked whether I wanted to add
subdirectories of this directory. I also said no.)

While walking me through the hunks and asking, darcs' progress indicator
read something like (15/6989). This was after saying no to all the new
directories with many files in them. I would have expected the count
to jump to (6987/6989) after darcs realised that many hunks depend on
adding the new directory and couldn't be recorded without adding the
directory.

The recording finished in the state (30/6989). This I found surprising.
