BTW, I should also add, I've posted a file here that you can use to
reproduce the problem:

http://www.complete.org/~jgoerzen/problems.tar.gz

That will extract two dirs: hsemail_hacks and missingh_repo.

Steps to reproduce:
cd missingh_repo
darcs pull ../hsemail_hacks
say yes to at least the first patch.
watch cpu be eaten.

Pulling the other way does the same thing.
