It seems I am one of them, at least partly. I've change the backround of
my gnome-terminals to blue recently. I am not really attached to this
choice. But this blue is so dark that blue coloring darcs uses stands
out clearly. I also work more often on gray-on-black console. At least
now. I seem to change my habits all the time ;-)

or they allow to choose any color from RGB palette
