Yes, you are right. I was partially joking. However, many project start 
with "well, we do not need
all that complexity -- lets just write our own little utility to do just 
what we need", but they end up
being just as complex in the end as more and more functionality is 
required. I really hope that the
Linux maintainers will not fall into that trap and that git will not 
become a real SCM in the end
 (unless of course if the design will be as good as that of Darcs :-)
