[darcs-users] darcs not working on windows XP

Hi All,

A while back I reported that darcs was not working on windows xp with 
service pack 1.  I have since upgraded to service pack 2 on this computer, 
and it still doesn't work.  Symptoms are unchanged.  Here is what happens:

     C:\>mkdir play
     C:\>cd play
     C:\play>darcs init
     C:\play>darcs what
     Fail: .: setCurrentDirectory: invalid argument (Invalid argument)

This is pretty basic.  I have one computer that works and one that fails. 
Both have SP2 now.  So I should be able to find some difference between the 
two computers.

I used the cygwin "objdump" utility on darcs.exe to see what DLLs it links 
to.  I got the following list:
     KERNEL32.dll
     MAPI32.DLL
     msvcrt.dll
     WINMM.DLL
     WS2_32.DLL

And I checked that these DLLs are the same on both computers.

So what else can be different that causes darcs to work on one computer and 
to fail on the other?

Does anybody have a list of all the environment variables used by darcs?
