Perhaps it's obvious for darcs, but when I tried arch it was not scaling
with an huge number of patchsets because it had O(N) algorithms where N
was the number of patchsets. That along with the size of the repo with
.tar.gz tarballs, is what made me very sceptical about the file per
changeset design.

Anyway it's pointless to keep talking about it since all it matters is
what happens after you load dozen thousand of changesets into it and you
didn't try that yet AFIK.

Somebody must have tried it since a mirror of the kernel CVS exported as
darcs existes, and that's the only workload I'm interested about.
