Let me guess: you typed ``\ 3 5 1'' and created a file with a name
that contains 8 pure ASCII characters ?

I have no idea how to insert a literal 0351 byte on the command line
on Mac OS X (my example was hacked together by editing the bash
history and recalling it using uparrow).
