Here is the first release candidate for next stable darcs,
1.0.9rc1.
This will mainly be a bug fix version to get things right that
got wrong or didn't get right in 1.0.7 and 1.0.8, but there are
some new features and optimizations too.
By the recent buzzing on darcs' mailing lists, it looks like the
next version (after 1.0.9) may be more stuffed with new features
and improvements, especially some much wished for. But until
then, let's try this one out.
Here are the most important changes from 1.0.8. More changes can
be found in the ChangeLog file, and all changes, as usual, with
'darcs changes --from-tag 1.0.8'
BUG FIXES
- Really make --disable-ssh-cm work (Eric Kow).
- The summarized output from darcs Changes shows both adds and
removals for files that are both added and removed in the same
patch (which should not happen, but obviously has). (Lele
Gaifax)
- Much less noise from external ssh commands (mainly concerns
Windows) (Eric Kow).
- A non-existing --logfile file makes darcs fail instead of
inserting an empty comment (Zachary P. Landau).
- Ignore any .git directory if a _darcs directory is found
(Juliusz Chroboczek).
NEW FEATURES
- The umask when darcs create files can be altered with the
--umask option (Juliusz Chroboczek).
- Get help on the command line for the --match options syntax with
'darcs help --match' (Eric Kow).
- The CGI web interface got an "up link" so you can go back to the
project list (Peter Stuifzand).
MISC
- The darcs front web page was given a good overhaul by Mark
Stosberg.
- The build system with makefiles and workarounds got some fixes
and updates by Esa Ilari Vuokko.
- The documentation got some typos, layout problems and other
problems fixed by Era Eriksson and Michal Sojka, and the section
about the DarcsRepo format got a clean up by David Roundy.
- The test suite got many improvments by Eric Kow, David Roundy,
Tommy Pettersson and Jon Olsson.
