That's unspecified. ;-)

If it's just a few files, I 'cp file.foo file.foo,1' or
something like that. If it's patches that change little things
all over the source, I use a trick where I get a series of
copies of the repo, bring them in the right states with
obliterate, and than move around the _darcs dir between them to
record the changes again. If you don't follow, ask, and I'll try
to give a more detailed description. I should mention that
neither of these techniques works automatically with replace or
move patches. I have not tested this with darcs2, but I think
the sometimes lazy nature of hashed and darcs2 format _darcs
dirs requires special care.
