Doesn't Darcs have a --pipe option or something like that which
suppresses all prompts?
It's not a perfect solution (eg, Emacs's foreign file systems like
TRAMP and EFS actually analyze the prompts and other output from ssh
and ftp clients to make a client-server connection look like a local
file system), but it goes a pretty long way.
