the URL is http://repos.mornfall.net/darcs/branch-2.2

It is, right now, identical to http://darcs.net, but soft freeze is in effect
*now*. The soft freeze policy has been outlined in my previous mail, so I won't
repeat myself. The next milestone is 2.2pre1, tagging due on 18th (as well as a
tarball release). If you identify a serious problem with the code as it
currently exists in the branch-2.2 repository, please send patches to
http://darcs.net as usual, but be sure to mention in your mail that this patch
should really be applied to branch-2.2 as well. I will be picking patches that
look release-ish to me, and I will be reading through the list for sent
patches. However, if you don't mention 2.2 in your submission, I can't
guarantee that I will treat your patch as release-appropriate. Since we need to
minimise number of changes that happen on branch-2.2, I will put up certain
resistance to letting in any given patch (and, there's no such thing as
obviously right patch from now on...).

Moreover, if you are fixing an issue for 2.2, please refrain from any
refactoring. Likely the best practice for now is going to be recording the
simplest and most obvious fix, and possibly refactoring on top of it. I will
only pull the first patch into the release, while the main repository on
darcs.net can get both patches.

I am putting up this modus operandi as an experiment for 2.2. If it proves
workable, I will likely keep it (with possible minor tweaks) for all further
releases (as long as I wear the RM hat). If someone would be so kind as to put
up a summary of the freeze policies on the wiki somewhere, I would be
grateful. Maybe we could (or we do already?) have an appendix in the manual
about darcs' own development?

That's it for now.

Thanks and keep up the good work. Yours,
   Petr.
