(Sorry, I realise that may not be a helpful reaction)
I've tried it on my end and the repair works, although interestingly
it notices some of the stuff that http://bugs.darcs.net/issue693
talks about.

I am assuming that this is not darcs-related, but due to some mixture
of OpenVZ, hardware or even GHC. Shall we wait for them to get back
with you?
