Eric wrote a good email about the limitations of email communication. I
thought you were requesting a major change, and it would never have
crossed my mind that you would have been happy if I had ignored your post.

Let's add some perspective: After two weeks rewriting the page based on
readers' input, I say that I can't afford more discussion on the front
page. To this you reply that I only listen to people who agree with me.
Is it that surprising that I reacted strongly?
As you can imagine, what it looked like from my angle is that you were
upset that I don't want to rewrite the website again, and are willing to
make unwarranted accusations to get your way.
You said you would have been happy if I had simply ignored you. But you
were upset when I said that I couldn't afford a bike shed discussion. I
guess we are different people, but I would have thought that the latter
is better than the former. Had I thought that you would be happy being
ignored, and upset with my reply, I would have chosen the happy option.
I apologize for making the wrong choice.
