If you could look at pristine like a file system that would probably cover
most of it.  Sort of like the 'z' commands in unix.  Like zgrep, zless,
etc.  If we had dls, dgrep, dfind, etc for working with 'darcs' data that
would be pretty sweet.  And probably not all that hard to build in Haskell
on top of hashed-storage.
