My point was chiefly that if a VCS doesn't implement a kind of metadata
internally, you can always implement it externally via hooks and a text
file.  If you set that up, your organization could migrate symlinkful
repos to Darcs without issue *right now*, and worry about Darcs growing
proper support for symlinks later.
