I intend to apply the first patch as soon as my staging repo accepts it.
I'll apply the next two if nobody complains.

  * LANGUAGE CPP pragma for Darcs.RunCommand and Darcs.TheCommands.
  This lets the gzcrcs stuff compile using the autoconf-based method.

  * Remove base3 flag from darcs.cabal.
  We now require GHC 6.8 and above.

  Now that we require GHC 6.8 and above, we always want the external
  bytestring.
