Such a thing should be not be one sided. If you expect to have some  
form of standard command naming across all major VCSs, then it must be  
an effort made by all participants, not just one of them mimicking the  
others. Besides there is not much to mimic. If you look into them more  
than skin deep, except commit and log which were copied like crazy  
from one VCS to another, they do pretty different things for the other  
commands, sometimes even when they have the same name for them.
