No particular reason.  Whatever you all as a community decide.
It may save us a little bit of effort, not that we put that much
effort into homepage anyway.

I personally think it's a good idea to have a minimal, static
(predictable) homepage in addition to the more volatile wiki.
That and it's easier to make it look nicer than the wiki.

Yes, we could also clean out the front page, move the bulk of
its content somewhere else to get that effect, which is fine too.
If you want to do this sort of thing, I'd suggest you research
the technical bits first (can we do this in gitit?).  Otherwise,
I await your orders,
