None that I know of, but you should investigate on "darcs-fast-export",
it could be doing something like that...

Yes it does! What I meant is: with that recipe, you could even move to
a different version of the darcs repo than the original one. If you
want to obtain a darcs2-the-format repository, just add something like
"init-options=--darcs-2" to the target section of the config.
