There is also the patchwork Darcs Interface Layer, which takes
src/Darcs/Commands/* and separates the user interaction from the
darcs bits:

  darcs get http://code.haskell.org/patchwork/main patchwork

This may make your work easier.  I'm on the lookout for a volunteer
to study this code and perhaps integrate it into darcs, likely with
the Patchwork authors' help.
