Wow, this turned out to be amazingly easy.  Hooray!

Duncan or Petr, can you help me work out the best way to hack
Setup.lhs so that something like this happens?

    $ cabal build
    [...]
    dist/build/darcs/darcs help manpage >doc/darcs.1

and

    $ cabal install
    [...]
    install doc/darcs.1 ${mandir}/man1/darcs.1
